Its snowing out, yet again..March 28, 2015. 108.7" this winter so far for the 2014 -2015 years. Spring is in the air -- Much needed and anticipated. We have finished in Pembroke with the Basement remodel. 2000 sq. ft. of new space. Featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 Large living room areas, HAM radio room & new staircase, dropped ceiling & plenty of storage space.
We are currently working on Pleasant st. In Whitman on a Kitchen room remodel. We have torn the 28 x 14 floor up down to the existing joists & pretty much leveled the floor from a 5" deficit using the existing early 1800's structural bone mass as a structural casing that has bended & bowed from 1 season to another. Adding all the necessary elements that our ancestors missed out on, which is quite evitible but understanding due to the massive 12x8 beams & 4x4 posts, 2ft o.c. but they are on a feildstone foundation, available to insects & rot due due to the beam being inside the the foundation wall. The siding or trim sits on it & soaks the water in if not flashed properly. Now a days the walls hang out past your foundation for shedding water. Anyways we are past that & haved reframed the ceilings the same way. Leveling the walls out & moving on... We are going back to Scituate next to do some windows. New Anderson windows, Pvc trim & White cedar siding. Another job on Washington St. in Whitman is going to be trim work & white cedar siding. Rip & replace.. Talk to you soon

October 23, 2014. 50 degrees & a nor-easter on hand. 2-3 inches of rain last couple of days, winters coming soon. It was a busy summer. At 1078 Washington st. in Whitman we put a facelift on the front of this 1825 colonial, New Harvey replacement windows, rip & replace window trim with Azek trims, old basement windows covered with plywood & boards over the years ( you know the ones ) letting no natural light in the basement, brought back to life allowing 324" of life to a dank basement. The front was scraped, primed & painted using Benjamin Moore paint products.
Also worked on South Leyden again in Brockton on another project. Robert ( homeowner ) has been wanting to take care of this for a while. Squirrel infestation moved it more quickly along. We replaced all the fascia, soffit & gutters on his pre-1900's 2 car garage, with Azek 1x10 & 1x8 trims & 5" seamless aluminum gutters. Discovery of rotted 6x8 upright beams & 6x8 sill beam damage led us on another quest of fabrication & modification.
Another job on Washington st in Whitman was rip & replace of a bedroom ceiling. This building used to be the original town hall. The plaster & lathe ceiling was collapsing. We removed the plaster & found 2x4 spanned from 6x6 beams at about 3ft. centers. Through the years of walking above everthing loosened up. We reframed the ceiling & sheetrocked & compounded the ceiling & added a Rams crown all the way around.
We ripped & replaced portions of the roof at the Channel 9 community building in Whitman.
Ripped & replaced cedars on Pond St. in Bridgewater.Replaced them with Maibec Grade A pre-primed white cedars. Expensive but a great product. If you are thinking about a home Improvement project, call today... John 617.462.2828

(Sage) New Pvc Fascia, Soffit, Cornerboards & window & door trims. Changed the entry door from 32" to 36" and topped it off with traditional black louvered shutters. You cannot miss it. Front stairs in East Bridgewater was another venture. Some old walls & ceilings in Brockton were torn down & insulated ( no insulation in walls or ceilings in these rooms ) sheetrocked & plastered. Hi Folks, Dec 30 2011, Happy holidays everyone. It has been a couple of busy months, We are finished in Duxbury and have been asked to come back in the spring to work on the front of the house. Basically we built a 1500 sq.ft. deck with 5/4 by 6 inch mahogany for decking, composite trims and stainless steel cable railing system. 4-8ft. anderson gliders, 8 anderson storm doors. 10 anderson windows, red cedar roofing and maibec nantucket A grade white cedars. This was quite a job. Next we went to Yarmouth ave in Brockton to tear down a 7x12 porch entry and built a 16x12 addition, which included 4 big foots and 6x6 carrying beam, 8 pella windows, 2 anderson storms with separate pressure treated stair entrys, 1 for access to the backyard and 1 from the driveway. The addition is maintenace free on the outside, boasting Azek trims and vinyl siding with lattice surround to keep out those pesky critters. we also went to Whitman on Washington st. to install a couple of hopper windows and basement window wells due to the water that was coming of the roof and running into the basement through the existing basement windows, which may have been done in 1853! yup, 1853 they looked it too. It looks like we will be going back here in the near future for some projects. We are going to Middleboro, Dons st. to do a 12x5 pantry by using some unused space in the building plan. It will be a nice addition to my photo gallery. Remember folks, we are at it all year round, inside or outside, in the attic or in the basement and every place through out you home. You can feel confident with Sterite construction on your side. Thanks and hope to hear from you. John Sterite
Afternoon Folks, Oct 6, 2011. The roof is done on Pond st. We ran into some gutter issues, and poor ventilation. The roof was a lay over on a roof that was in really bad shape to begin with and had no paper or ice & water, improper flashing, the roof was applied and all the joints were tarred & rot repair from those issues. As far as gutters go, I like to allow 3/4 inch per 8ft. for pitch, sometimes you need to evaluate in the field + or -. We are back in Duxbury and will have some great photos, soon. Feel free to comment.

Hi Everybody, Friday. Nov.6,09. Wow, where has the time gone? We are 2 full moons away from winter. The Marshfeild job is coming along quite nice, We finally got the permit last week ( 1 month ) digging is going to be tough. Code for the Marshfeild area requires a "big foot" under the sona-tubes for the decks because of the new code for 110 mile per hr. zones along with a new prescriptive residential deck construction guide. I know it sounds pretty intimidating, just the rules.
